Fried Fish Basket
"Zeerovers (Dutch word which means “pirates”) serves fish and drinks at local prices. We also sell freshly caught fish to go. Fish you can grill later at you hotel. The vibe there is really colloquial. When arriving you’ll notice many colorful houses in the area and outside Zeerovers many parked cars. This place is popular with locals. As soon as you walk inside there’s a counter on the left where one can purchase fresh fish to go. Walking further you’ll see a deck with chairs and tables, perhaps hosting a group of loud seasoned locals playing domino. The backdrop is a gorgeous ocean view. The menu is seafood and beer (also non-alcoholic). Prices? Local. Good deal." - Zeerovers
Zeerovers is a great place for those who love a view, don't mind getting their hands dirty and love seafood. They have such a simple amazing menu that consists of fish, shrimp, fries, plantains and corn bread served with onion in vinegar and tartar sauce. That's it, so if you're not a fish fan you may want to pass. You choose what you want and they put all the ingredients in a basket, you take your table # and go choose whatever seat you want out on the deck which overlooks the beautiful tropical waters of Aruba. They bring you your order of the now deliciously fried basket of yumminess. They fry everything lightly with simple seasoning. Then you just attack it with your hands. If you want silverware I'm sure they have some but everyone else uses their hands. They have a hand washing station right outside when you're done. I absolutely loved this dining experience. It was fun, tasty and the view was amazing. Definitely something worth doing while you're in Aruba. Visit Zeerovers' facebook page Zeerovers.
